Since September 2007 super funds have been allowed to borrow money to purchase property, shares and managed funds. In order to do this you must set up a Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF) with an 'instalment warrant' arrangement. The fund can then apply for a SMSF loan to buy a property which will be held on trust for the benefit of the super fund's members.
